2 Mile Hill shared with Mélange...

About the birth of the band
When we were at university we got together to play music for the pure enjoyment of it. We all loved music even though we were pursuing different degrees. It just clicked and after we graduated and we decided this is what we wanted as a career.
About the band members
Some of us went to secondary school together and the rest of us met along the way through mutual friends in music and otherwise. Our drummer Chadd was actually a student of our previous drummer who passed on the mantle to him.
Mahalia is the lead vocalist and songwriter, André is the keyboardist and producer. He is also our Musical Director. Russell is the guitarist, Kris is our bassist and Chadd is our drummer.
About the name“ 2 Mile Hill”
When we were searching for band names we had the idea to use a place from home, a Barbadian neighbourhood or street name. Wish there was some really interesting reason behind it but we just threw a bunch of names out there and 2 Mile Hill sounded the coolest, and it stuck.
About their music genre
Our style is a blend of Caribbean vibes, with hip hop and soul. We all have different favourites at different times but we can all agree that we love the energy that comes with performing our track“ Let It Go”.
About their musical influences
There have been many influences over the years but for our lead singer Mahalia, Lauryn Hill is at the very top of her list. She got the opportunity to meet her idol recently and she nearly fainted, lol.
About their performances
We’ ve travelled around the Caribbean region to the likes of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago. We’ ve also toured the US, and performed in Canada and across the pond in Europe.
About what they do to keep motivated
Dancing, immersing ourselves in the party scene, watching live concerts and other bands’ musical arrangements, so the music is always there.
About access to their music
Our music is available online worldwide. Download on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and more. Fans can even stream on Spotify and Apple Music.
