About your other interests
Outside of the painting and the drawing, my
body is my canvas. Now, it has nothing to do with
being vain or whatever mean names people like
to attach to others who take care of themselves.
It’s my body, I take care of it, I live a very healthy
lifestyle, watch what I eat, no alcohol, exercise
regularly and I have a deep rooted spiritual
connection. I did not say religious. Let me
explain. I have accepted my ability, I accept that
what I do is deeper than myself and I can become
so immersed in my projects that time and space
ceases to exist - it’s like I’ve been taken over
by something that is greater than myself. God
guides my hands and allows finding myself and
losing myself at the same time. I would stand and
look at my work in awe, I can remember where
I started, I know I finished, but in between it is
a blur. I have worked on paintings from dust till
dawn, not tired, not hungry, but focused. That is
the passion that I have for my work and the level
to which I immerse myself.
Art is not what I do, it’s what I feel, it’s a part
of me and my very existence and although it’s
sometimes a lonely and personal journey, I
wouldn’t live any other way. It is the way I leave
here without leaving home. I didn’t become an
artist, I was born this way, created to create and
I would encourage anyone with any ounce of
creativity within them, to not be discouraged,
persue your dream. I am blessed to be paid to
do what I love and I wake up every day, thankful.
Love yourself, be at peace with your neighbor,
accept who you are and the universe will reward
you forever.
