Welcome
to
Dominica
The Nature Island
Colin Piper
CEO/Director of Tourism
Dear Visitors and Prospective Visitors,
those who want to reconnect with nature, we have
countless nature hiking trails that lead through
and within prime Oceanic rainforest to countless
waterfalls, lakes and rivers.
Welcome to Dominica! Or as we say, Bienvenue!
Dominica, The Nature Island welcomes you to
experience all of its beautiful natural wonders.
As you learn more about us, you will realize
that Dominica is not your typical Caribbean
destination. Travelers to Dominica actively seek
out authentic experiences, personal challenges
and the possibility of the unknown. They have no
desire to follow the crowd and have little use for
the ordinary or the typical experience. Visitors to
Dominica understand that in order to maintain
physical, mental and spiritual wellness, they must
be in contact with nature.
Dominica continues to receive many accolades
some of these include:
Caribbean Journal - Dominica listed as one of the
16 Places to Visit in the Caribbean for 2016.
Ethical Traveler - Four of five years, Dominica
recognized among World’s Top 10 Most Ethical
Destinations 2015, 2014, 2012, 2011.
While on island, be sure to ta ke time to enjoy
Dominica’s attractions encompassing nature,
culture and adventure. Visit the Kalinago Barana
Aute within the Kalinago Territory to experience
indigenous heritage, relax in our thermal springs,
dine at our quaint spots, or for relaxation and
tranquility, consider a rowboat ride on the Fresh
Water Lake or the Indian River. In the North of
the island, be sure to visit the Syndicate Parrot
Reserve within the Morne Diablotin National Park
or the restored historic Fort Shirley at the Cabrits
National Park.
For divers and snorkelers Dominica is the perfect
spot. Dominica is known for its wall and pinnacle
diving. In fact, the Island received several top
accolades from readers of various Magazines
for its healthy reefs and crystal clear waters. For
USA Today - Dominica ranked third among 20 for
the Best Caribbean Destination for Adventure in
2015.
Caribbean Journal- Dominica named one of “the
Must-Visit Caribbean Places in 2015.”
We have made the call for Adventurers of the
mind, body and spirit. Will you heed that call for
an experience that appeals to travelers looking of
something different, off the beaten path?
We look forward to welcoming you to Dominica in
the not too distant future.
Warm Regards,
Colin Piper
