This hamlet is noted for being the home of L ’ Escalier Tete Chien . Located at the south of the Territory it is associated with the ancestral story of a giant snake that swam from South America to Dominica . It is believed that the boa constrictor came ashore and lived in the Majini Mountain . A rock , partly immersed in water and part on land , is symbolic of the path taken by the legendary snake as it moved up to the cave where it resided .

Home of the Centipede Trail . A large marking etched into a rock is believed to be where a giant centipede once passed through this hamlet .
The Kalinago Chief ’ s office is located in this community .
Bataka , Crayfish River and Salybia communities are linked by what is known as Horseback Ridge . From a point in each of these communities , you will see the shape of a horse ’ s back in the ridge that joins them together . Views are breath-taking .
The police station is located in Salybia which is the current administrative center of the Territory and where the administrative development of the Kalinago Territory actually started . Christianity was introduced here . The cemetery , church , school and the bay where canoes go out to sea are in Salybia plus , it is the site of the last Carib war .
In the Concord community , there is a special place known as the secret pool . After a 1.5 to 2-mile walk into the mountain , you will see where the river once passed through , creating what are now natural pools . It is said if you take a bath in the pools , whatever illness assail you will be washed away .
