Hello everyone and welcome to our May issue .
I would like to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to Fred J . Maahs , Jr ., who has served as the Editor of our magazine since its inception in 2020 . He is now deeply engaged in an exciting new project , so Accessibility for All magazine says a partial goodbye and expresses our deep appreciation for his invaluable contributions over the years . He remains a part of our Mélange family , so for those wishing to stay connected regarding this publication , Fred can still be reached at fmaahs @ readmelange . com . Do you have an assistive technology you would like him to review , or a story you ’ d like to share ? He would be delighted to hear from you and we encourage you to stay in touch .
In this issue of Accessibility for All , we delve into the diverse and remarkable experiences of individuals with disabilities . We aim to celebrate their strengths , resilience and unique perspectives , while also shedding light on the challenges they face in a world that often overlooks their contributions . The indomitable advocate Afia Kabir Anila , actor , Noah Matthews Matofsky , author , Zoe Kozina and life coach Anna Giannakouros are some of the people whose stories we share .
Through powerful narratives , insightful interviews , and thought-provoking articles , we invite our readers to broaden their understanding and empathy towards people with disabilities . It ' s our belief that inclusivity and accessibility should be woven into the fabric of society , ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive and be heard .
We hope this issue sparks conversations , fosters awareness and inspires positive change in how we perceive and support individuals with disabilities .
Don ’ t forget to check out our sister publication , Accessible Journeys , for accessible travel inspiration . It ' s a delight to share the travel experiences of people with various disabilities , showing how they navigate a world where , sadly , many barriers still exist . In Accessible Journeys , we highlight what ' s possible and encourage you to pack your bags and explore the world !
