mæg DÉSIRÉE Actively committed for over 10 years to eco-friendly production processes, the tannery Dani has developed, together with Désirée, the first zero impact leather, combining a passion for leather with the love for Planet Earth. Zero Impact was born out of Dani’s desire, shared with its partners, to develop a project based on common values, first of all environmental sustainability, but also the commitment to 100% made in Italy products, innovation and faultless quality. The exceeding CO2 emissions produced during tanning are balanced by an internationally certified forestation project. The Kyoto protocol recognises forest absorption as an effective strategy to oppose climatic changes, together with the reduction of emissions. Enthusiastic protagonist of this project, Désirée is now presenting its collection made with Dani’s Zero Impact leather. Resulting from a 10-year research carried out by Dani, the Zero Impact leather is chrome and heavy metal free, according to ISO 15987 (max 0,1% heavy metal content). Forestation projects offer the chance to reduce to zero the CO2 emissions caused by human activities, by creating carbon credits (VER: Verified Emissions Reductions). This is also achieved thanks to Dani’s investment in renewable energy and technologies aimed at reducing the consumption of natural resources in production processes.
