ORITANI BANK SPONSORS FOREVER YOUNG PROGRAM
The Oritani Bank Charitable Foundation recently agreed to be the title sponsor for Westwood Recreation Department’ s Forever Young Program. The program, available to Westwood residents over the age of 55, offers cardio fitness classes, yoga, pickleball and watercolor painting classes. BERKELEY SCHOOL FIELD GETS NEW IRRIGATION SYSTEM
The Berkeley School Field on the corner of Harrington Avenue and Sand Road recently had a new irrigation system installed. This was a joint collaborative project that was paid for by the Dragons Soccer Club, the Westwood Board of Education and the Borough of Westwood Recreation Department.
Lakeland Bank to sponsor Special Needs Activity Program
The Westwood Recreation Department announced that Lakeland Bank will be the title sponsor for their SNAP-Special Needs Activity Program. SNAP was designed to promote independence and improve the quality of life through recreation and leisure.
The year-round program is available to children between the ages of 3and 21 with aphysical or learning disability.
Several classes are offered on a rotating basis throughout the year including art, tennis, baseball, basketball and indoor soccer.
“ We welcome children from all over the Pascack Valley area to participate, as well as our own Westwood residents,” states Recreation Director Gary Buchheister,“ We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Lakeland Bank, which has contributed its support to the Recreation Department’ s activities including the Summer Concert Series and Movies in the Park. I would like to thank Lakeland Bank and especially Susan Scimone-Bellini, senior vice president of regional administration.”
