Oak wilt is an infectous disease caused by the fungus Ceratocyst. To help combat agaist oak wilt, more than 120 landscapers, tree care experts, certified arborists, green industry representatives, Master Gardeners and Naturalists, attended the Tree Disease Identification & Management Workshop, held at the Phil Hardberger Park West Conservancy Ecology Center on June 17th hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M Forest Service and City of San Antonio.

There are so many benefits to beekeeping including local and delicious honey, growing a garden by natural pollination, & most importantly saving our bees. A small group clad in bee suits, looking like extras in a science-fiction movie, trudged through wooded property in Adkins to get a close-up look at beehives kept by the Cole family and learn the basics of beekeeping to become bona fide beekeepers.
