Englewood Community Day
PHOTOS/CITY OF ENGLEWOOD
Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes brought back a tradition with “Englewood Community Day”
held Sunday, Aug. 18, at Depot Square. The celebration, which drew hundreds, was sponsored
by Englewood Health and brought together businesses, churches, food vendors, crafters, a
petting zoo and organizations to one place. City and county departments were also present to
introduce to the residents the services provided. Attendees enjoyed free ice cream from Mayor
Wildes’ tent courtesy of Ice Cream on Grand. Among the attractions were a live petting zoo
and a surprise performance by Israel Pop Artist Gad Elbaz. There were activities and fun for all
ages, that ended with a backpack giveaway in tandem with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. The day
was a celebration of community and health, as well as an opportunity to raise awareness of the
services provided by Englewood Health.
