Healthy eating events instill importance of good nutrition
The Community Chest, Englewood Health
and the Englewood Health Department are
partnering to host a series of “Healthy
Eating” programs at various locations through-
out Englewood. The goal of the programs is to
instill in those who attend the importance of
good nutrition and healthy eating in order to
avoid diabetes and obesity, hypertension, and
other effects of poor nutrition.
The Healthy Eating programs provide a
free meal to families and individuals invited
to attend through the host location as well as
through the Center for Food Action and Office
of Concern. While enjoying the dinner, guests
learn from health educators about nutrition
and the importance of healthy eating. After the
meal and the program, guests are provided
with a bag full of the ingredients to prepare
