Meet the mushroom hunters
and amateur mycologists
from Southeast Serbia
Our young Society exists for only three years,but among the members we have teachers, doctors, engineers, students, pupils, pensioners, officers, nature lovers of all ages and professions.
As many as one-third of the association are women and girls, which we are particularly proud of Activities of our society are related to the territory of the southern Serbian mountains: Stara planina/Balkan/Jastrebac Suva Planina,that are rich in forests of oak and beech.
New Balkan Force
Since the founding of the Association, we are educating the youth, hikers and scouts for knowledge of fungi.
Results of our work is that in our territory was not mushroom poisoning for a long period of years. In this part of our mission, we have great support from the local authority, which provides us with room to work, meeting and exhibition of mushrooms.
In the coming years we will continue with the training of our young members for microscopy , furnishing the Association with the scientific and popular books in mycology and Cooperation with mycological societies in the Balkans.
It is our great pleasure, we were hosted by our friends and brothers in Western Macedonia,Kastoria and Florina.From this time we carry only the best memories of the great organization and a wonderful nature and the people of Greece.
This year we plan to organize mycological camp in the Balkan Mountains , where we invite our friends from Greece and Bulgaria.
By tradition, the month of October we will make a major exhibition of mushrooms.
We hope the arrival of guests from Montenegro,Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina , Bulgaria and Greece .Let these photos from last year is an illustration and invitations for all Balkan mushroom hunters !

Mycological Society Niš is a non-governmental organization of mushroom hunters and amateur mycologists from Southeast Serbia region.The seat of the Society is the City of Niš, administrative, cultural and economic center of southern Serbia.
Niš is a city with 300,000 inhabitants, has a university, an international airport, a large clinical center, tobacco, textiles and metal industry.As important settlement has existed for 2,000 years and is rich in historical monuments.
