constant sexual objectification of women in the media makes it seem like it is completely okay to
view women as sex objects or men’s property, in a way shaping and conditioning the minds of
the viewers in order to see women as such. This problematic portrayal of the female gender has
noticeably affected how women have been treated in the society throughout history, how they
have been discriminated against in the workplace and blamed for being victims of immoral acts.
They have been consistently degraded and dehumanized by the media, making them seem utterly
inferior to men, and as a result of this, men commenced to perceive and treat women like objects.
The media’s influence and the ability to reach a mass audience should instead be used to
circulate positive information about the genders, so that no gender is discriminated against or
treated poorly.
