Instead of comparing death numbers in an illogical manner, she could have persuaded the reader that keeping exotic animals can prove beneficiary by giving a few advantages and benefits. All of these articles had given some points worth our consideration when thinking about the issue of keeping exotic animals as pets, however not every source was effective in conveying its purpose. PETA’s article was undoubtedly the most persuasive source, because of the significant persuasive techniques utilized. The word choice was effective in persuading the audience of the utter immorality of trading wild animals, as they called the exotic pet trade as “big business” with a great source of “criminal earnings.” Right from the start, the reader is able to comprehend the point and purpose of the article: that exotic pet trade is not legal, nor is it moral. To support the argument, substantial information is provided throughout the article along with numerical data and real-life examples that show the presence of another persuasive technique, pathos. They appeal to the reader’s emotions when they state that a little baby has been brutally murdered as a result of an attack by an exotic pet.
