It ’ s Your Adventure , We ’ ll Be Your Guide
Hello
FROM THE EDITORS
Launch of New Look Magazine .
When Peter Allen wrote the hit song “ Everything Old is new again ” he was not thinking of magazines . Yet the title is appropriate for your new look My Town Magazine where we will be bringing you many of your favourite things in an entirely different way .
Editor : Dan Berryman
We will be bringing you hot off the press information about the latest shows , festivals and events well ahead so that rather than read a review you can provide your own .
And while on the subject of popular songs , that old favourite , I ’ ve bin everywhere man , made popular by Lucky Starr in 1962 also has a place in future My Town magazines . Now that we are extending right throughout South East Queensland we will be able to bring you details of towns , big and small from Noosa to Tweed Head and Brisbane to Toowoomba and beyond .
There is much to learn about these places that have played important roles in the formation of our history . as well as still being viable places of interest in the present . For instance , while we have associated Toowoomba with the Carnival of Flowers in September for the last 56 years , the relatively new Languages and Cultural festival is rapidly growing as a popular event . And while there , you just may want to visit with the Salt Caves just a few kilometres out of the CBD .

While we will be reaching out into lesser known areas of our state , we will not forget our beautiful city . No matter how many times we traverse the waterways the Brisbane river still provides a wonderful balance between functionality and interest . So , we will be introducing a whole new focus on the meandering curves , the jetties , the ferries , and even the history that encourages us to live here .
In 2014 The Lonely Planet itemised Brisbane as one of the world ’ s ‘ hippest ’ cities . A surprising statement , but one we embrace nevertheless , and will prove it with our articles on our Cultural Centres , Parks and Gardens , and growing food industries , all combining to make My Town – Your Town .
