Queensland has a variety of living styles , places big and small . In following Months , we will be letting our eyes do the walking . This is the month we have Open House of 100 historic and government houses and we all have the opportunity see inside familiar buildings and learn a little about what they do , and why they are there .
Theatres In each issue , we will be bringing you news and views about the theatrical shows either currently being performed or are coming later in the year . In addition to our wonderful Cultural Centre with the Lyric , Concert , Playhouse , Cremorne venues now top class main stream theatre , we have smaller theatres such as 12th Night , Tivoli , Powerhouse and Redcliffe Cultural Centre which bring alternative options .
Festivals We will be featuring information about cafes and restaurants that have something special to offer . It may be food quality , food value , exotic tastes or simply beautiful views and relaxing or an exciting ambience . Some will be family friendly , others more suitable for a romantic evening , or even no more than a clean and friendly atmosphere .
Birds , & Blooms
We are delighted to say that our very own Jenny Wren , Jean Wortley will still be bringing delightful articles to your My Town Magazine . Jean and Peter enjoy visiting parks around our State and will be able to tell you which birds are likely to be in residence and when . After that it will be up to you to keep an ‘ eagle ’ eye out for our feathered friends .
Of course , the BIG one is the Carnival of Flowers in beautiful Toowoomba , and our September / August issue will cover this in style . Brisbanes ’ s three major parks and gardens are The Botanic Gardens , Roma Street Parkland , and Southbank . We will be going behind the scenes of these events and learning more from the Directors and Groundsmen . You may even learn a few tips for your own backyard .
Each month we will bring you eye candy by way of specialty dishes from themed restaurant and explore the cultures now playing such an important part of Queensland
