Queensland councils join garage sale trail in 2014 A record number of councils across Queensland have signed on to be part of Garage Sale Trail for 2014. Co-founder of Garage Sale Trail Darryl Nichols said, “We are delighted that 12 councils across Queensland as well as the Queensland Government have come on board this year.” “Garage Sale Trail is a day that liberates the cupboards, garages and attics of Australia that are crammed ful l of stuff we don’t really need and lets us come together, have some fun, make a few dollars and think about how we can all play our part to live more sustainably.” Registrations are now open and Queenslanders are once again encouraged to visit www.garagesaletrail.com.au and join hundreds of thousands of households, schools and community groups across Australia on Saturday 25 October as part of the rapidly growing national community and sustainability event, Garage Sale Trail. their unwanted belongings; live in a more sustainable fashion by reducing waste; connect with their community and raise some money for themselves or others. It also allows them to think creatively about how they can reuse items that might otherwise be put out for Council collection and possibly end up in landfill. Now in its fourth year, Garage Sale Trail is supported by over 120 councils nationally and is expecting up to 10,000 garage sales across the country with over 1.5 million items for sale.
