The book of life By Yacine Khouzami For most of us, the art of juggling commitments and managing money can be hard to master. There are always appointments to attend to, bills to pay and of course, strict bosses. It is often easy to forget and put-off simple household duties such as cooking and cleaning. Then there are the elderly, people with disabilities and parents of young children who have dificulty just to get to the shops. Fortunately, a lovely local resident by the name of Vicki Haigh decided to make it her mission to help those trying to live independently in their own homes. She created the “Caboolture & Districts, Community Home Services, Housebound Book 2014” which lists local businesses who can assist with making lives easier for the housebound. The directory is available online at http:// The book lists everything such as the delivgoo.gl/wfHDBu or by typing in “Housebound ery of meals and groceries, mobile doctors Book 2014” into Google. and pharmacists, home help maintenance and care organisations. It features services that cater to around 20 suburbs for those living in and around the Moreton Bay region. These include Caboolture to Beerwah, Beachmere to Bribie Island, Morayfield, Narangba to Redcliffe and out to Woodford. 25
