OUT & ABOUT
A night at Mon Komo
Article by Melissa Bailey
It was fantastic. Stunning, to be exact. I walked into a
room with neatly placed lounges and tuffets to sit on.
Smartly dressed waiters delivering amazing looking
food that made my stomach growl. A band prepared on
stage while I went to order my drink and modern music
played in the background. Drink in hand, buzzer in the
other, I sat at a table with easy access to the dance floor
and waited for my wedges.
Since its opening in 2011 thousands of people from
all over Brisbane have flocked to Mon Komo for everything the hotel has to offer. Every weekend, the bar and
outdoor area entertain guests with fantastic live music,
delicious food and relaxing drinks. Supporting local live
artists such as Sarenda, a group that plays music from
the 80s to today that is sure to have you on your feet
for a dance, Mon Komo has really hit the spot, bringing
Redcliffe a new vibe. Brisbane residents have travelled
over the bridge to come and experience a piece of
Redcliffe’s favourite hotel, with its interesting decor and
comfortable lounges. In the winter you can enjoy a hot
drink by the outdoor heaters while listening to local
talent and chatting with friends. Children enjoy sitting
with mum and dad watching musicians while nibbling
on sour cream-soaked wedges. Anyone can enjoy a
relaxing afternoon or stay on to party on into the night.
The attentive wait staff will have your drink topped up
and supply a fresh plate of hot chips before you’ve said
‘excuse me.’ What a wonderfully relaxing experience for
those looking to wind down after a busy work week, or
an uplifting joyous occasion for those looking to celebrate a birthday, graduation or just a night out!
