The morning Amtrak train to Greensboro can allow you and your kids to spend a few hours at the children’s museum or the International Civil Rights Museum, then ride the train home again in the evening. If your kids have never ridden a real train, the ride will be its own adventure! Make reading fun. To prevent summer brain drain, plan to sign kids up for the summer reading program at your local library. Make daily reading time fun with a clever name such as “Drop Everything and Read time” (DEAR Time). Be a good role model by joining your child with your own book.
