21. What is teaching about?
Teaching is an activity aimed at
bringing about meaningful learning
through a method that is morally and
pedagogically acceptable. It involves
a teacher, a learner, content in form
of knowledge facts information and
skill to be imparted a deliberate
intention on the part of the learners
to learn, and finally a method that
respects the learners’ cognitive
integrity and freedom of choice.
In education, teaching is the
concerted sharing of knowledge and
experience,
which
is
usually
organized within a discipline and,
more generally, the provision of
stimulus to the psychological and
intellectual growth of a person by
another person or artifact.
Teaching for me is a big
responsibility because it involves
values, knowledge, habits and
discipline. Teaching and learning
work together. Moreover, teaching is
the process of attending to people’s
needs, experiences and feelings,
and making specific interventions to
help them learn particular things.
22. What is learning about?
Measurable
and
relatively
permanent change in behavior
through experience, instruction, or
study. Learning itself cannot be
measured, but its results can be.
The process of learning new things
is not always the same. Learning
can happen in a wide variety of
ways. Sometimes people learn
things that help them become more
knowledgeable and lead better lives.
In other instances, people can learn
things that are detrimental to their
overall health and well-being.
In the case of learning a second or
foreign language improves the
functionality of your brain by
challenging it to recognize, negotiate
meaning, and communicate in
different language systems.
