Bowlers CeLeBrATe club’s milestone Bowls club celebrates diamond jubilee M ore than 70 members and visitors donned their trademark white uniforms and basked in the summer sunshine last month for a commemorative match to mark the diamond jubilee of Pinner Bowls Club. Consisting of six games against local bowls clubs, a celebratory supper and a prize presentation, the event celebrated the club’s 60 years at the Pinner Memorial Park site. “This is a momentous occasion for us, and I feel privileged to be involved with the club at such a wonderful time in our history,” comments Captain Roy Kemp. “It was a pleasure to see so many people from our club and the surrounding area come together to help celebrate with us.” And these sentiments are echoed by President Glennis Purchase. “This is a great game and it has been thoroughly enjoyable to mark such a milestone occasion in this way,” she remarks. “Obviously we now look to our 65th birthday and hope that as a club we can continue to grow and ?ourish and attract new members into the fold.” Currently boasting more than 90 playing and social members of varying ages the club is always happy to accept new players. “We are a friendly and welcoming club,” explains Mr Kemp. “We provide full coaching to anyone looking to join us and while the playing season runs from April to September we also o?er a varied year-round social programme with something for everyone.” If you are interested in joining or for more details contact the secretary david rumsey on 020 8429 9181. 16 To advertise your business call 07725 554 902
