Gunder Burger
I did my food review at the Irish Shanty in Gunder Iowa. I choose this restaurant because I have always really enjoyed my visits to it. The reasons I enjoy these visits is because of the all around nice and friendly service and the food. If you ever want to visit this place its across the road from a church and cemetery. The restaurant on the outside looks like just a normal building so it may be easy to miss when traveling through if there are no cars around. The inside of the building looks really hospitable and inviting. The inside is covered in of course Irish decorations and signs. The restaurant is always sanitary and you usually are able to find a table you would enjoy sitting at. The waitresses that work there are always really friendly and always willing to help you and come back every 10 to 15 minutes while you’re eating to see if you need anything. The food the restaurant provides is amazing and well made. The thing they are most known for is the Gunder Burger though and is what I always order. The Gunder Burger is a 2 pound burger that is topped with chesse and its placed between two really small buns that are good but always seem to fall apart when you pick them up so its preferred if you tear of the outside of the burger to the center buns and just eat the normal way from there. They were in a competition for some of the best burgers in Iowa. The Gunder Burger was placed in the top category. If you ever go through North-East Iowa the Irish Shanty is the place to go for food!
