a. Welcome to AHS Rahlgasse
The headteacher Ms. Rollet and the
European projects coordinator, Mr. Redl
welcomed us warmly and presented the
main features of the school.
Our first meeting at Rahglasse
Die Rahlgasse is a medium sized school
with a total of 750 students from 10 to 19
and about 80 teachers.
The first two years are the same for all the
pupils and in the third year, they should
choose between the Gymnasium, a
grammar school , and the Realgymnasium,
a high school which emphasizes science
and modern languages. If they choose

Gymnasium, they will take French or Latin as a second foreign
Language in the third year. Those pupils who take French must take
Latin in the upper grades and those who take Latin have the choice
between French and Italian.
The first year at the AHS is very important for students. It is not easy
for everyone, as it means a big change for them and they may need
help and support. They think school
success is not only a question of
intelligence, but it depends on many
other factors (learning technique,
work organization and ability to
concentrate...). Therefore, the GRG VI
offers an optional learning course for
the students of the first classes.
At the beginning of the school year there is an information evening
for the parents. They also organize workshops as follows:
