Remember That The
Park Is Home To
Wildlife First
It is essential that you always have physical control over your pet. Consider
that the park is a popular destination for campers and day-trippers. As a result,
you will run into plenty of children, adults, and people with their pets.
Therefore, park officials restrict access to leashed pets only. You may walk
your companion animal on the Pa'rus Trail. Please use a leash that is no longer
than six feet. However, you have to keep it out of all wilderness areas and off
the other trails. This rule is due to the presence of local wildlife.
The park is home to bighorn sheep, California condors and mountain lions.
Besides that, there are smaller reptiles, rodents and birds. It is easy for a dog to
forget its training and begin chasing one of the smaller animals. Likewise, there
is the chance that a larger animal will view your pet as prey and go after it.
