Karaman Turkey since the beginning of the erosion of the wind-exposed regions and is located about 50 thousand inhabitants , the withdrawal of groundwater , soil deficiencies arising from a threat of sinkholes . While farmers have been harvesting recently , the emergence of sinkholes in areas where corn and alfalfa are cultivated also worries the locals . Upon the increase in pothole formation , the Chamber of Geological Engineers and AFAD teams made examinations in the region .
The number of potholes is gradually increasing . The sinkholes , which were very close to their living spaces , caused fear . The municipal council stated that if it continues like this , Karaman can move elsewhere .
