Erasmus gives you the opportunity to live a work experience abroad. This practical training can be done to cover the compulsory training required to get your final diploma or voluntarily, simply to complement your studies and gain professional experience in a foreign company.
Erasmus is not only an internship abroad but also a life and work experience, giving the students an opportunity to see the world and learn about other ways of working in their respective fields. We spoke with Laurin Kreisher, a student graduating this year in International Trade, and Pau Martinoy, a student graduating this year in Marketing and Advertising, to find out about their desire to do an Erasmus and the process to follow.
In order to get an Erasmus internship, you must take a B2 English level exam. This exam assesses your writing, reading and listening skills. Besides, you have to do an interview in English that is quite similar to a job interview.
Each part counts for the final mark. Other marks to take into account are your final grades, that is, your academic record, as well as your English final mark for the year.
Depending on the course you're in, the final mark varies. If you are in second grade, you get ten extra marks since it is understood that at that level you have more knowledge. Therefore, those who are still studying first grade are at disadvantage.
There are three types of scholarships according to their destination. The first level it’s the national level, the second level is the European level and the third level is the international level (overseas).
“It's been a smooth process, you go through stages and you make decision as you go along," says Pau. "I haven't started yet, so I hope to be able to do it soon," says Laurin.
