constructed as square or U-shaped. In the caravanserais, people were housed, animals were
sheltered and vehicles were repaired.
Caravanserais were the most important trade items in the country's economy.
Caravanserais were social facilities that were not based on profit. These include Öküz Mehmet
Paşa Caravanserai in Kuşadası, Sultan Han on the Konya-Aksaray road, Sarı Han in Nevşehir,
Alara Han in Antalya and Evdir Han.
