For Unto Us A Child Is Born
Unto us a Son is given ; and the government will be upon His shoulder . And His Name will be called Wonderful , Counsellor , Mighty God , Everlasting Father , Prince of Peace . ( Isaiah 9:6 , KJV )
Of all the names Christ was given — from Genesis to Revelation — The Name above every name is a Son . He is the Christ , the Son of the living God . ( Matthew 16:16 ) This is the truth that matters . For being a Son , He has a Father . And this is who God has revealed Himself to be , to us . Beyond Creator , Provider , Healer , Sanctifier , He is our Abba Father . And in the hush of holy night , when Emmanuel ( God with us ) was born ; The prophets , the wise men , the shepherds , the angels ,
and the BRIGHT MORNING STAR
Are important ways of pointing us back to this truth — That Christ came to point us back to the Almighty who sent Him .
For God so loved the world , that He gave His only Son , That whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life . ( John 3:16 ) The Good Shepherd , the Stone rejected who became the Cornerstone , Came to reveal the righteousness of God , and the heart of the Father , Who put Himself at our mercy , when we nailed His Son to the Cross .
The birth of Christ gave birth to sonship . And the Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God . ( C . S . Lewis ) For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world . And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith . Who is it that overcomes the world Except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God ? ( 1 John 5:4 — 5 ) Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end , Upon the throne of David , and upon His kingdom , to order it , And to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever .
