heart of God towards our Nation . We learnt to love Singapore enough to identify with her shame ( sins , strongholds ) and respond biblically . John Dawson called this identification , repentance and reconciliation . And in true priestly posture , we were encouraged to look far in order to fulfil the Father ’ s redemptive purpose for Singapore , and through Singapore . This prophetic understanding from YWAM has shaped our thinking for LoveSingapore ’ s concerts of prayer across the years .
Now , considering that LoveSingapore is primarily a unityprayer movement , we can say that YWAMSG has been a great friend and mentor of significant influence . This would not have been possible without the mutual respect and trust , forged from the start through our friendship with Alan Lim .
Praise God , the legacy continues . 3 years ago , we welcomed Joseph Chean , National Director of YWAMSG , onboard the LoveSingapore leadership team . Again , I see that same YWAM servant-spirit in Joseph . Not only that . But as the Chairman of the Fellowship of Missional Organisations of Singapore ( FOMOS ), Joseph has been able to help LoveSingapore connect better with other mission agencies .
For example , in 2018 and 2019 , through Joseph ’ s influence , FOMOS coordinated the on-site logistics for the annual LoveSingapore Pastors ’ Prayer Summit . This was a massive operation . Also , for both Summits , we made Joseph the
Camp Commandant . He was the first mission agency leader to ever play that privileged role . I must say that he did very well . Trust is earned . And like Alan before him , Joseph has proven trustworthy , a man with no hidden agenda .
For that reason , I am at ease to have Joseph head up LoveSingapore ’ s missions arm called Antioch 21 . Our aim is to passionately pursue Singapore ’ s Antioch call . LoveSingapore wants to help local churches thrive as seedbeds and senders for world missions . We believe that with the right help from the right people , every local church has the potential to become an Antioch church . Specialised skills . Cross-cultural intelligence . Equipping tracks . Best practices . It takes vision , courage , wisdom , and a lot of diplomacy to pull together doers and dreamers from the many missional streams to flow in one direction . I think there is no better person for this Antioch 21 challenge than Joseph Chean and his team at YWAMSG .
Let us dream together that Singapore will be a global model of how local churches and mission agencies can synergise strategically and successfully to complete world evangelisation . We are stronger and wiser together . Forty years ago , that was the farthest thing from my mind . That I am able to articulate this missional unity and Kingdom passion today is all because of you , YWAMSG ! On behalf of LoveSingapore , thank you . Keep the flame burning bright as you persevere to know Him and make Him known .
