YWAMSG ’ s outreaches , training programmes , pioneering initiatives and ministries , burgeoned steadily through the years . And the forging of partnerships with the churches of Singapore and other mission agencies accelerated when Joseph Chean became our National Director . To fly the banner for God ’ s glory in the nations , YWAMSG recognises that we are all connected to each other by threads of dependence and influence . In Joe ’ s words , “ We commemorate and celebrate all that God has done in YWAMSG , but eventually , we know that this isn ’ t about us . It ’ s about God ’ s heart for the nations — through Singapore , through the local churches , and our partnerships with them . We are one small piece in this puzzle . Beyond going into all the world to preach the Gospel , we need to transform and impact the nations and remember the forgotten . No church or entity can claim to do this on its own , and unity is formed out of this vision . ‘ I need you ’, will be our earnest cry , and this , to me , brings pleasure to God ’ s heart .”
To push through the years with a devotion hinged inexorably upon the fulfilment of Revelation 7:9 : Behold , a great multitude that no one could number , from every nation , from all tribes and peoples and languages , standing before the throne and before the Lamb , our YWAMSG community had to encounter the exodus individually and collectively ; where a grim sea parted and daily manna fell . Through our breakthroughs in provision , surrendering of rights for unity ’ s sake , and coping with the deep pain of loss , we were each delivered from personal bondage to see where true deliverance lies .
