Departing From the Faith
Another instance of demonic doctrine is the departure from the historic faith.
Rather than embracing the faith that has been once and for all revealed to believers,
demonic influences would have people either add or subtract to what God has
revealed in His Word. This is what Paul warned Timothy about when he said
people would depart from "the faith."
False Doctrine
The false doctrine that demons bring is the denial that Christ has come in the flesh.
The Bible says. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus
Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not
from God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming;
and now it is already in the world (1 John 4:2, 3).
Demonic spirits also curse Christ.
Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever
says "Let Jesus be cursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy
Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3).
Sensual understanding does not comprehend spiritual truth. This is because
Biblical truths are spiritually discerned. Unless we are under the influence of the
Holy Spirit, it will be difficult to maintain Biblical truths. We must be guided into
the knowledge that come from the Bible to be able to correctly present them before
our audiences.
John 16: 13
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he
shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will
show you things to come.
Access to truths in the Bible is beyond human intelligence. It takes impartation
from the Holy Spirit to have the true knowledge in the Bible. We are brought into
knowing the hidden truth of Scripture as we yield our heart to God and work in
faith with Him. Biblical truths are obtained by faith. In order words reasoning
about Biblical truth are processed by faith. That is we give reason for what we
believe. The moment your reasoning is not in line with the spirit of truth, the spirit
of falsehood takes over your life. If you are not operating under the spirit of truth,
whatever position you are holding on, you will be standing on a faulty ground.
Thus we need the help of the Holy Spirit.
