The large series of drawings depicting Centaurs, Fauns and Satyrs was studied and published by Jean Cailleux
in 1974 but since then others, like the present study, have come to light. In this delightful drawing Domenico
depicts a couple of fauns playing with their two children showing that despite their animal nature fauns have a
human everyday life. Giandomenico was probably fascinated by the idea that these mythological creatures have
human traits as he returned to the theme many times.
