ΔΗΛΟΣ DELOS
Είκοσι εννέα γλυπτές ανθρώπινες μορφές φιλοτεχνημένες με σίδηρο από
τον Βρετανό καλλιτέχνη Antony Gormley επανεποικίζουν φέτος το ιερό νησί
της Δήλου. Προϊόν συνεργασίας της Εφορείας Αρχαιοτήτων Κυκλάδων με
τον οργανισμό ΝΕΟΝ, η έκθεση SIGHT λαμβάνει χώρα μεταξύ 2 Μαΐου
και 31 Οκτωβρίου, συνδέοντας δημιουργικά το αρχαιολογικό παρελθόν με
τον σύγχρονο πολιτισμό. Σε νατουραλιστικές, κυβοειδείς ή αφηρημένες
φόρμες, εκτεθειμένες στα στοιχεία της φύσης, οι γλυπτές φιγούρες του
Gormley είναι προσανατολισμένες προς τον μακρινό ορίζοντα ή στέκονται
στη διαδρομή από το Στάδιο μέχρι το Θέατρο, στα εμπορικά μαγαζιά και
στο Μουσείο, επαναφέροντας την προσοχή στην ανθρώπινη παρουσία
στη Δήλο, στο πέρασμα των αιώνων. Σημειώνουμε πως την έκθεση έχουν
επιμεληθεί η διευθύντρια του ΝΕΟΝ, Ελίνα Κουντούρη, και η διευθύντρια
της Whitechapel Gallery του Λονδίνου, Iwona Blazwick. This year, twenty-nine sculpted human forms, crafted with iron by
British artist Antony Gormley, re-colonize the sacred island of De-
los. A cooperative effort between the Ephorate of Antiquities of the
Cyclades and the NEON organization, the SIGHT exhibition will be
taking place between May 2 and October 31, creatively linking the
past with the modern civilization. In naturalistic, cubic or abstract
forms, and exposed to the elements, Gormley's sculpted figures
are oriented towards the distant horizon or stand along the path
from the Stadium to the Theater, at the commercial stores and the
Museum, re-focusing attention on the human presence in Delos
throughout the centuries. Note that the exhibition’s curator is NE-
ON's Director, Elina Kountouri, and the Director of the Whitechapel
Gallery, London, Iwona Blazwick.
ΑΡΧΑΙΟΛΟΓΙΚΟ ΜΟΥΣΕΙΟ ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Παράλληλα με την έκθεση SIGHT, η Εφορεία Αρχαιοτήτων Κυκλάδων
και ο Οργανισμός ΝΕΟΝ οργανώνουν μια ομαδική έκθεση 13 σύγχρονων
Ελλήνων και ξένων καλλιτεχνών στο Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Μυκόνου.
Η έκθεση δανείζεται το όνομά της από τη σουρεαλιστική σύνθεση του
Giacometti The Palace at 4 a.m. και αποτελεί συνάντηση των μόνιμων
εκθεμάτων του μουσείου -αγαλμάτων, αρχιτεκτονικών θραυσμάτων, αγγεί-
ων, επιτύμβιων στηλών- με 32 σύγχρονα έργα, με σκοπό την ανάδειξη των
κοινών στοιχείων που εκτείνονται σε διαφορετικές χιλιετίες, πολιτισμούς
και ηπείρους. Η έκθεση διαρκεί ως τις 31 Οκτωβρίου, ενώ την επιμέλειά
της υπογράφουν οι Ελίνα Κουντούρη και Iwona Blazwick. Alongside the SIGHT exhibition, the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cy-
clades and the NEON Organization are planning a group exhibition by 13
contemporary Greek and foreign artists at the Archaeological Museum
of Mykonos. The exhibition borrows its name from Giacometti’s surreal
composition The Palace at 4 a.m. and comprises a meeting of the
permanent exhibits of the museum—statues, architectural fragments,
pots, tombstones—with 32 contemporary works, with the purpose of
promoting the common elements that extend to different millenniums,
civilizations and continents. The exhibition will last until October 31,
with curators Elina Kountouri and Iwona Blazwick.
