"Endangered Species" are species of animals who are at risk of becoming extinct
ome zoos in the world aren't safe for animals and conditions aren't great. They are not clean enough and animals don't have enough space to roam happily. Some zoos in countries outside of Britain don't have to follow the same rules as we do. Animals are sometimes hungry and dirty and keepers sometimes don't know how to properly look after them. PETA have found another study that found that over 3/4 of British zoos don't meet Animal Welfare Standards ... how does this make you feel? Shocked? So are we.
The strongest argument we have found that is for zoos focuses on keeping animals species going. Without zoos (The Guardian newspaper argued in 2014) lots of animal species would become extinct.
S
owever, PETA argue that zoos are a type of animal prison. They say that the Zoos argue that they save species of animals BUT most animals who are born or taken into zoos never are released...
PETA say that we can protect animals and endangered species by going to where the animals are from and working hard to protect their natural homes.
What we are questioning is how we can actually do that with poachers and hunters all over the world?
What do you think - are zoos good or bad? Should we have them at all? Let us know!
