Taylor Wimpey are one of the UK’s largest residential developers. As a
responsible developer we are committed to working with local people
and communities.
We were formed by the merger of George
Wimpey and Taylor Woodrow in 2007,
and have operations in the UK and Spain.
We aim to be the developer of choice for
customers, employees, communities and
shareholders.
We are one of the largest homebuilders in
the UK, operating from 24 regional offices
across England, Scotland and Wales. and keeping them informed about our
work, both before we build and through-
out the life of the development. We focus
on getting the basics of homebuilding
right first time, such as quality, custom-
er service and health and safety, and we
aim to continually improve all parts of our
business.
We build a wide range of properties, from
one- and two-bedroom apartments to five
bedroom detached houses, with a broad
price range including both private and
affordable homes. We are truly national
and we cover most regions across the UK.
Our regional businesses are run as local
homebuilders and have in depth knowl-
edge and experience of the local market.
We understand that development is about
more than creating homes and we provide
millions of pounds worth of infrastruc-
ture, for example roads, sewers, land-
scaping and community facilities, every
year across the UK. We aim to develop
vibrant communities with a true sense of
place that fit into their surrounding area
and meet the needs of local people. We
are a responsible community developer,
committed to working with local people,
community groups and local authorities We work in partnership with a wide range
of companies, organisations and individu-
als.
We aim to be the land buyer and residen-
tial developer that everyone wants to deal
with. A positive and structured approach
to working with others benefits us all and
is at the heart of a successful and sus-
tainable development. Many people have
an interest, or stake, in a Taylor Wimpey
scheme and we work with them to find
the most appropriate development solu-
tion. As well as local communities and our
potential customers, such stakeholders
include local authorities, government and
public-sector organisations, our materials
suppliers and subcontractors, other devel-
opers, and the landowners who have sites
to sell.
Taylor Wimpey is committed to sup-
porting Charities and Local Community
Groups in the areas in which it operates.
We believe that as a responsible business,
we must actively contribute to helping
others financially, with our time, energy
and leadership.
We aim to be an aspirational housebuild-
ing brand that is recognised for the good
that is given back to our local communi-
ties by our employees.
Our primary goal is to genuinely improve
the position of the causes that we sup-
port. The secondary, but equally impor-
tant goal, is to engage our employees in
these activities as we recognise it is good
for their development and self-awareness.
Whilst there are a large number of worthy
projects and causes, we have to focus to
make sure that we are effective and that
we support others to be the best they can
be.
Our Priorities
We will generally focus on smaller nation-
al charities or regional/local charities,
where we can make a more significant
difference and where our employees can
be actively involved, rather than solely be
a funding partner.
Projects which promote aspiration and
education in disadvantaged areas.
Intervening and improving homeless sit-
uations for seriously economically disad-
vantaged groups in the UK.
Local projects that have a direct link with
our regional businesses and develop-
ments.
Our Principles
Our charitable giving is focused on causes
linked to our business, the communities
in which we operate our business partners
and our employees.
Our contribution will not be restricted to
solely monetary award. We encourage our
teams to volunteer their services in sup-
port of suitable causes from the commu-
nities in which we operate or seek to do
so.
These causes are not limited to nation-
al charities or major events but they are
strongly associated with our priorities.
