For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10 + 2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy, applicant should have passed the 12 th Class, with Physics and Mathematics. Those appearing in 12 th Class examination are also provisionally permitted to appear for the examination. Applicants must be physically fit according to physical standards prescribed.
First stage of selection will be based on the performance in a written examination, having two papers, Mathematics of 2½ hours duration and carrying 300 marks and the General Ability Test of 2½ hours duration, carrying 600 marks. The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only.
The second stage of the Selection process is Service Selection Board Test / Interview carrying 900 marks. Based on the performance in the written examination, candidates obtaining the minimum qualifying marks will be called to appear before a Services Selection Board for Intelligence and Personality Test.
Candidates for the Army / Navy wings of the NDA and 10 + 2 Cadet Entry Scheme of Indian Naval
Academy will be assessed on Officers Potentiality and those for the Air Force in Computerised Pilot Selection System( CPSS) and Pilot Aptitude Test( which forms the whole PAB Test) and for Officers
Potentiality.
SSB interview is a two-stage process conducted over 4 days. Stage I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating( OIR) tests are Picture Perception & Description Test( PP & DT). Candidates will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP & DT. Stage II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. The personality of a candidate is assessed by the Interviewing Officer( IO), Group Testing Officer( GTO) and the Psychologist.
Candidates for the Army / Navy / Naval Academy and Air Force have to secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in the written examination and in Officer Potentiality Test. Those for the Air Force should separately qualify the PABT. The cost of training including accommodation, books, uniforms, boarding and medical treatment will be borne by the Government. Several Scholarships / Financial
Assistance including those offered by State Governments are available to cadets.
