WATER PROBLEMS
Sometimes water is too much or too little.
When the water is too much, for example when it rains a lot, the rivers overflow and destroy cars and houses, they kill animals and people, especially in Asia, Latin America and Europe. When the water is too little, for example in Africa, plants, animals and people die because of droughts.
Pollution: Industry and farmers often pollute water with chemicals therefore plants and fish die. Chemicals are dangerous also for people.
Politics: in order to have water for its people every country gets busy. One country builds dames for hydroelectricity, one diverts rivers for having more water, but these actions can create problems for other countries. For example the River Nile for Egypt or Blue and White Niles for Ethiopia a Sudan. In Spain at the mouth of the river fish die because farmers have changed the course of the River Ebro with a big dam.
Global warming: climates are changing because of global warming and countries are becoming hotter and drier for these reasons there are a lot of problems for agriculture. At the moment there isn’t a solution for global warming.
Rivers and seas are very polluted in Italy too. Especially the Po delta, near our village, shows signs of pollution given by the factories which are in the North of Italy.
Water is essential, there is no life without water. Fresh, clean water means good health and well-being for peoples.
I think we shouldn’t use too much water in our daily life.
