FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE SEED SECTOR The opportunities for AGRA and ASIF, based on the experience with the existing pool of investee companies, include: 1. Increasing access to working capital facilities to allow investee companies to support stronger linkages within the seed sector 2. Strengthening the output markets for smallholder farmers by: a. Investment in post-harvest management infrastructure b. Increasing the leverage of smallholder farmers in the market through collective marketing / access to post harvest infrastructure 3. Further institutional capacity improvements to enable seed companies cope with and manage growth.
