Organisational success is determined to a great extent by team work. An efficient, effective and highly motivated workforce helps organizations to remain productive and competitive. The Additional Skill Acquisition Programme( ASAP) could make a significant impact upon the educational landscape of the state due to a dedicated team comprising officials, Programme Managers and members from its Institutional partners. Even during a short time span of its existence the programme could establish new benchmarks in work culture in the State.
ASAP has created a big impact on the lives of hundreds of families through the creation of job avenues for needy students. Efforts of the past four years in imparting industry relevant skills to students of Higher Secondary Schools and Undergraduate Colleges have now provided meaningful employment to nearly 625 students. Apart from this, ASAP training has raised the employability of a much larger number of students across the state.
The 110 ASAP Skill Development Centers, 50 Training Service Providers, Colleges that are Training Partner institutions and the industry partners, together have created a wonderful skill ecosystem in the state. The much needed Industry-Academia linkage has actually taken place and is evolving. Community Skill Parks of ASAP with active linkages with nearby educational institutions and skill training centers on a hub and spoke model will be the futuristic training centers with most advanced facilities in Kerala. Work has already begun for developing Community Skill Parks in 15 legislative constituencies and these will herald a new era of development in the state.
ASAP continues its journey to make a significant impact upon the quality of human resource pool in the state. The report of the year 2014-15 is a record of the continuous efforts and the achievements made through a collaborative effort involving various stake holders including educational institutions, industry bodies and training service providers. The ambitious targets set by the programme drives the various initiatives and create the momentum for achieving the results. I wish the team more success and fulfillment of all the dreams.
