BFSI SECTOR
During the year 2014-15 BFSI offered 16 courses in regular stream and 5 courses in Summer Skill Skool in various subsectors including Banking, Banking and Financial Service, Banking and Non-Banking Financial Service.
In 2014-15, Highest percentage( 32.54 %) of ASAP students have shown flair in BFSI sector.
41.90 % of total female students opted BFSI sector
Business Advisory Committee Meeting
First Business Advisory Committee meeting of BFSI sector was convened at Mascot Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram on 5th August 2015 in the presence of Dr. K M Abraham CFA IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Government of Kerala and Dr. M. T. Reju IAS, Chief Executive Officer ASAP, Shri. Aji Philip, Under Secretary, ASAP, Shri. Deepu R. K, Head, Finance, ASAP, Programme Managers- Shri. Anoop R, Ms. Shalini S Raju, Shri. Sarin S Panicker and invited BAC Members as the other panel members.
Industry experts actively participated in the discussions regarding placement and internship. Stipend provision for students pursuing internship was taken in to consideration and serious initiatives were promised from both sides. Extension of internship duration was raised from all corners. ASAP agreed the sharing student profiles with industry leaders for ease in organizing internship and placement in collaboration with them. BAC members suggested involving retired industry experts in the role of quality assurers for enhancing quality assurance in training. Suggestions about new job roles also emerged in the discussion including financial analytics, Office administration and Micro finance. Combining of QPs was discussed and suggestions were consolidated by the committee. As part of suggestions for new courses, Financial Inclusions like Micro financing / MSME were suggested by the team and were positively considered.
