Etimologicamente la parola “accessorio” indica dal latino “ciò che si accompagna o si aggiunge a ciò
che è principale; qualcosa di connesso a un bene o un oggetto principale, di cui completa la funzione”.
È sinonimo, quindi di secondario, aggiuntivo, marginale. Certo... Forse un tempo! Lasciamo pure da
parte l'etimologia. Osservando bene le ultime sfilate di Alta Moda, non si può non notare quanto oggi
sia mutato il significato di questa parola. L'accessorio non è secondo a nessuno, nemmeno all'abito
d'Alta Moda che esalta co n la sua luce e il suo design. Anni fa le cose erano ben diverse: l'abito era l'unico
vero grande protagonista della passerella e gli accessori, dai gioielli alle borse, scarpe e cinture, pote-
vano esserci oppure no, in ogni caso erano qualcosa che serviva solo da un punto di vista scenico per
rendere ancora più spettacolare e indimenticabile una creazione Haute Couture, ma da qui all'essere
considerati, come sono ora, non solo più di un dettaglio, ma il Dettaglio che fa sempre la differenza
cambiando del tutto il mood di un abito, ce n'è voluto di tempo. Oggi molto spesso l'attenzione di
stampa, buyer e ospiti in sala è calamitata proprio dagli accessori: architetture meravigliose di forme,
luci e colori che incantano per la loro audacia e ipnotica bellezza perché, anche loro, naturalmente,
sono Haute Couture, ossia pensati per strabiliare e accendere la fantasia e il desiderio di chi li osserva.

is a synonym of secondary, additional, marginal. Yes... Maybe in days gone by! Well, let us leave aside
etymology. Observing the latest fashion shows, it is evident to notice how much the meaning of this
word has changed today. An accessory is second to none, not even the High Fashion dress that em-
phasizes with its light and design. Years ago things were different: the gown was the only true star of
the catwalk and accessories from jewelry to handbags, shoes and belts, could be there or not because
they had some value only theatrically speaking to make a High Fashion creation, more spectacular
and unforgettable but from here to be considered, as they are now, not just more than a detail, but the
Detail that makes the difference totally changing the mood of a garment, took time. Very often today,
the attention of press, buyers and guests during the show is attracted by accessories: wonderful architectures
of shapes, lights and colors that enchant for their audacity and hypnotic beauty because, of course,
they are also haute couture, designed to wow and turn on the imagination and desire of the observer.
