GRAFTING THE
CRAFT OF
SUCCESS
Success Should Be Your Percept of
Gratification, Intangible to Social Averment

Churchill once said, “Success is not final,
Failure is not fatal, it is courage that that counts”.
Many of us, in our quest to success often forget to
paraphrase what success means to us. Rightly so, to
carve our niche in the book of success, more often
than not, it’s about visualizing the goal and realizing
our potential strengths and weaknesses. It in fact,
ought to be the priority numero uno before investing
our energy, time and dedication, should our efforts
bear fruits.
The perception of success is very subjective at
the level of intellect. Given the fact that the magnitude
of our goals vary from person to person, the way we
define success entirely depends on our perception of
success. For some, success could mean achieving
a substantial recognition in their field of expertise.
For some, it could be a psychological gratification of
having invested efforts irrespective of the results and

with the social dogmas that program our thoughts
to indulge ourselves into leading lives that garner

sanguine accreditation from the society. If we happen
to tick all the boxes, we are deemed to be an eligible

predefined norms of the society. We aren’t presumed
of attaining the monkhood of greatness until we
have the prescribed collegiate degree certificate
that satiates the criterion in order for the society to
reckon you eligible for further ratification. Kudos to
us, if we happen to cross the hurdle. While we are
being inducted to the hypocritical hall of fame, we are
incognizant of the fact that the society has already
performed the last rites of our dreams, desires and
aspirations. And wait! This just doesn’t end here. If
we don’t fall within the sanctioned pay slab, we’re
subject to strangulation at the hands of ravenous
comparisons against the set benchmarks whi ch
eventually becomes our undoing leading us to the
path of social inferiority complex and an inevitable
state of depression. This is the horrendous picture of
Success portrayed by us and our society.
Right from our childhood, we are subjected
to the furnace that moulds us into shovels that are
used to dig the foundations that define success. For
those who fail to mould, they are a social discard who
end up in the gutters of depression and substance
abuse. The problem with us and our society is that
both are entangled in the fear of ratification. While
