ENTREPRENEURSHIP
months, SuperJam jars flounced the racks of each
of the 184 Waitrose stores. This grand success led
Doherty to scale new business heights. With this
Doherty became the youngest ever supplier to a
major supermarket chain. His SuperJam jars were
now being shipped to over 2,000 supermarkets
around the world including Australia, Russia,
Denmark, Finland, Ireland and South Korea.
SuperJam witnessed great success and was also
exhibited at the “National Museum of Scotland as
an Iconic Scottish Brand.” He also came up with
three different flavours of it – Strawberry, Blueberry
& Blackcurrant and Raspberry. Thus, ‘SuperJam’
became a unique brand on its own.
Doherty was the first ever winner from
outside North America to win the “Global Student
Entrepreneur of the Year” award. He was covered by
number of magazines for his achievements. He was
a host to accolades by many prestigious awards
such as “Supernova’s Brightest Young Business
Award”, “Smarta 100 Award”, “Start-ups Young
Entrepreneur of The Year” and “British Inspiration
Award” to name a few.
Doherty branched out his jam venture into
housing tea parties for elderly people. It was
for the people who lead lives in solitude in care
homes or in sheltered housing. It hosted scores of
events across the UK, featuring live music, a wee
bit of dancing accompanied with scones, tea and
naturally lashings of SuperJam. Doherty is also the
co-founder of Beer52, which has grown rapidly to
become one of the Britain’s largest craft beer clubs
with ambitions to replicate its success in a number
of overseas markets.
Apart from pioneering the SuperJam, Doherty
is also the “Entrepreneur in Residence” at London
Metropolitan University, where he delivers the
lectures and speeches on how to cut it in the big bad
world of business. Well, the boy from Edinburgh did
not stop just there, he also started writing. His first
book was “The SuperJam Cookbook” which reveals
the jam making secrets. The one that followed was
“SuperBusiness” – a book featuring his story and
everything he has learned about and last but not the
least “48-Hour Startup” which is all about business
and its strategies. Fraser Doherty also contributes
in a magazine named Ferment – the biggest and
THE DREAM BOX
largest circulated publication on the booming craft
beer in the country.
Doherty loves travelling and has travelled 60
countries till now. With the love for adventure, he
describes his life an amazing adventure which
taught him many things. He loves his life and is
always grateful to his mother and granny for the best
recipe without which he would never have achieved
such fame.
Well, Doherty with his impeccable knowledge
and perfection made this happen and showed
everyone that nothing is impossible in this world.
With the positive thoughts and belief he tasted
success at a very tender age of 14. An age when a
child barely manages to creep out of school books
and wander thoughts to the play-field, let alone even
muse on Entrepreneurship, this kid left all those
things behind to conquer the world wielding his
secret recipe of Jams from door to door, into the
hearts of millions of admirers of the SuperJam.

successful life you do not need degrees but you
