Please find it in your heart to find a place for him. I would be forever grateful!”--S
“ I have a close friend who is looking to send their kid to Lamplighters. His name is ME, and his son’ s name is B. I know you have parents who are dying to send their kids to Lamplighters, and are willing to pay full tuition without asking for a break, but B is different. B is an amazing kid who just needs some assistance in adapting to a normal classroom. B is a smart and really bright kid. He would be a perfect addition to the Lamplighter team, and be a true“ Lamplighter”.
B’ s parents are hoping to send him to Lamplighters where they and myself strongly believe he will not only shine but flourish.
We are living in a time where are community is growing, and there are not enough schools in our community to keep up with the demand, and for parents with a special kid like B there is even less options, because a kid like B will get lost in the system. However, in a school like Lamplighters where education, creativity and love for knowledge comes alive, B will not only fit in perfectly, but will reach new heights.
The bedrock of our people is education; and there is no greater feeling then watching ones child reach their potential. Yocheved, you are a mother, a leader and educator, so I appeal to you to please accept B for the school year of 2016- 2017. In addition, I kindly ask that you give his parents a break on tuition as well. His parents both work and are middle income. They are not making millions, but are people who will never forget the chance you gave their kid, and for that they will repay your kindness with supporting the school in whichever way they can. So I ask you kindly to please take my appeal into consideration, and hopefully accept B.
All the best, and thank you for your time.”--GH
“... I truly hope there is a way to‘ create’ a spot for C. I know you are bursting at the seams, we would so much like to give her the opportunity to truly flourish in the warm, encouraging and kind, atmosphere, which you have created within our community. Where children are valued as individuals and for their true potential....
Beyond the academics, we appreciate the opportunities you create to be involved in Lamplighters. B and I have been doing quite a lot of research on the Montessori Methodology. We heard consistent positive feedback from happy parents, not only in the methods by which you educate the children, but also in being a part of a community and a“ family” where teachers and parents truly work together. Something that is a rarity in jewish education today.
If you could meet C, you would see, she is a kind, friendly, mature, social, orderly, very curious and bright girl. She thrives on positive encouragement, a calm atmosphere, tackles challenges and has a thirst for knowledge and understanding the‘ hows’ and‘ whys’.
Crown Heights seems to be a long term plan for us. While her current school has its merits, having had C’ s first real experience out of preschool this year, we learned a few things the hard way. It would be a tremendous injustice to her to keep her in a school system that we feel, does not primarily focus on what is best for their students, but performance and reputation. Where the atmosphere creates an intense pressure, an unnecessary amount of focus on exterior, not nearly enough attention to self-respect or respect of others. There is a lack of attention to the individual needs of each child. We feel, in both C’ s experience and our own experience in trying to advocate for her, there was a feeling of helplessness and falling on deaf ears in( her current school). We are whole heartedly invested in our girls and want the best for them emotionally, socially and academically, as I’ m sure was your motivation in the founding of Lamplighters. We appreciate your taking the time to show us first hand, how you are revolutionizing chinuch for our children.
Thank you for your consideration.
... until we can impact every single Jewish child in ways that can be measured in numbers-- or that surpass any number.
