Student Profile Healthcare and Community Care KWETB FETC, Jigginstown, Naas, Co Kildare. Rachel Kennedy My time at the KWETB centre in Jigginstown, Naas, Co. Kildare was so enjoyable. I met the most amazing people, such as my tutor Kathleen Maloney, who has helped, guided and pushed me to my absolute potential. I have made Friends for life. The FET centre Naas and the people who help run this centre have been so helpful and amazing to me. Due to my amazing journey with the KWETB I have achieved my dream job of working for the H.S.E. I will be forever grateful for the amazing opportunity. Rachel Kennedy At the time of joining the KWETB course I was a part time worker in an office and a full time mother. The time had come for me to make a career decision that was going to help me going forward. I have always had an interest in being a Health Care Assistant but I didn’t know how to go about training for it. A trip to the FAS office put me in contact with Deirdre Curtin in the KWETB Further Education and Training Centre (FET) in Jigginstown, Naas, Co. Kildare and after a brief meeting with her I was on the road to achieving my dream job. The 1st course, Health Care Support consisted of eight modules and I completed this in December 2015 with 7 distinctions and 1 merit. This spurred me on to complete my 2nd course, Community Care Assistant which consisted of undertaking a module based on Nutrition. I completed this course in April 2016 with a distinction. On completing the second course I had achieved not one but two Major Awards. MK 51
