Skills For Work • Promote an ethos of lifelong learning in the workplace Skills For Work is a national programme designed to deliver training courses for full time or part time employees. The programme is particularly targeted at low skilled workers who, without the opportunity to participate in this training, may not have the confidence to embrace change in the workplace. This initiative is funded by the Irish Government under the Department of Education and Skills and delivered by the Education and Training Boards (ETB) across the country. All courses within the South East Region are delivered by the local ETB, Kildare Wicklow ETB, Kilkenny Carlow ETB and Waterford Wexford ETB. • Contribute towards the creation of a well- educated and highly skilled workforce Skills For Work Course • Develop initiatives to enhance employees communication and basic IT skills • Enable employees to cope with frequent and ongoing changes in work practices For further information please contact: • Raise the competency level of employees with low levels of educational qualifications Deirdre Gallagher Tel: 087 188 4355 Email: [email protected] Email: [email protected] • A SFW programme is customised to the employee/employer needs and may cover such things as Communications, IT Skills, and Health & Safety etc. • Most offer free nationally recognised certification. • There are no tuition fees. • What Are The Aims Of The Skills For Work Programme? 25
