PLC courses are full time, intensive, one year
programmes that are designed to prepare
students for entry level employment or
progression to further study. They offer a
mixture of practical work, academic work and
work experience.
Students who complete a PLC course may
apply to third level programmes at Institutes
of Technology or Universities through
the Higher Education Links Scheme. The
programme provides an ideal platform for
progression from the Leaving Certificate and
for those who want an extra year to study
and explore a specific vocational area. PLC
courses are also ideal for adults returning to
further education and training.
PLC courses are offered in a number of
KWETB second level schools and centres
across County Kildare and County Wicklow.
