What I have learned is that, losing the thread or the thread being broken and therefore being forced into stillness, having to wait till I catch the thread or find a different one brings potential for exciting work that I could have not foreseen had I focused on holding tight and just followed the initial thread. When the thread breaks, anxiety will initially ensue, but I have learned the importance of patience, as Blanchot argues the easiest route will take us to a foreseeable goal, having to slow down and wait gives us the opportunity to find another route that will lead us somewhere that exceeds our expectations.
