Waiting for … Godot? is a series of performances carried out usually in quiet, desolate spaces. In each performance I write in a sketchbook everything I can remember from Samuel Beckett’ s famous modernist play. The audience, if they get close to me, can experience parts of the play by reading as I write. They are forced to wait while I try to remember and they can’ t never be sure that what I write is correct.
The performances are meant as an act of remembrance for all those who wait, but specially for all those who wait in situations of extreme uncertainty and invisibility. During this performances I feel strong connection to the characters of the play who I see as different aspects of the one same individual and trough these characters I experience a deep empathy for those who experience‘ chronic waiting’.

I wonder, why do Didi and Gogo, the two main characters, stay in the same place waiting endlessly for someone that may never arrive? Can’ t they go and looking for better fortune somewhere else? can ' t they go wandering elsewhere and maybe they will find help and shelter?
Are they mentally unable to see that there may be other options? Are they depressed? are they fearful? Maybe there isn ' t anywhere else to go? Maybe waiting for someone, Godot perhaps, to rescue them is the only option?
