6. Director Principal’s Message - MDPS
My odyssey and association with Delhi Public School Society started when I joined Delhi
Public School, Mathura Road, in 1969 under the stalwart, legendary Principal – Late Sri
Din Dayal who conceptualized the very idea of establishing this school, wherein, I worked
for 5 years. It was in February 1974, that I became a part of the world acclaimed Delhi
Public School, R.K. Puram, the school that stands for excellence and has given this
country many distinguished personalities like doctors, engineers and leaders in various
fields and spheres under the exemplary vision and dynamic leadership of the then,
Principal Sh. R.S. Lugani. I joined the institution in the capacity of Deputy Head, promoted
to Head of Department and finally elevated to Vice Principal. Giving a new dimensions to
education through my selfless, innovative and disciplined pursuit of excellence, I was the
first teacher from NCR region to be selected and decoarated for the National Award in
1988. Because of my wide experience, dedication and commitment in the field of
education, in 1995, I was given a responsibility to establish a new educational venture in
the industrial city of Faridabad. It was a real challenge that I accepted and took over,
without any infrastructure.
DPS Faridabad started its Odyssey on 10th July, 1995 with 640 students sans
infrastructure and became a seat of excellence for the pupils of industrial city of Faridabad
in a remarkably short time span. Housed initially in three rented buildings, the school was
shifted to its own magnificent building with state-of-the-art infrastructure within a record
time of 10 months. The school, in its short career, accomplished many remarkable feats
on curricular and co-curricular front, and was considered as a precious jewel in the crown
of Delhi Public School Society. During my tenure, Dipsites staged mega productions like
Aahvaan, Chanakya, Sangharsh, Azadi. Ably guided, brilliant and confident students of
DPS, Faridabad proved that they not only were intellectually sharp but also talented in
culture and theatre.
My tenure at DPS Faridabad, was over in April, 2004. After leaving DPS, Faridabad, it
was a passionate zeal and great desire in me to establish one more educational venture
of high standards and better quality and therefore a new educational paradigm, Modern
Delhi Public School, Faridabad, came into existence.
On the auspicious morning of 3rd April, 2006 alongwith 150 students and 15 teachers,
Modern Delhi Public School commenced its inaugural session in the same Govt. School
building at Sector 21-C, where Delhi Public School, Faridabad started its journey 10 years
ago i.e. 10th July, 1995.
Today Modern Delhi Public School stands tall and proud having come a long way over the
last five years of its existence. It has built a reputation for itself, few can match. The school
